Over the Fourth of July, our friends the Reese's were kind enough to invite us to come to their family cottage up in Michigan again. We have so much fun going up there with them, and it was the picture perfect place to spend the Fourth.
The cottage is in a rural part of Michigan. On Saturday morning, we ventured out on a dirt road to buy some homemade Amish pies. Since the pies weren't done baking yet, the Amish family was gracious enough to treat us to an impromptu buggy ride and barn tour while we waited.
The sweet Amish girl, Mandy's, mom called as we pulled out in the buggy, "Take 'em on a long enough ride to make it worth their while!" You can tell by the photo below that it was absolutely beautiful and perfectly picturesque. Caroline and Campbell enjoyed the buggy ride...and we all enjoyed the pie later!
